Tucked away in the heart of Seattle's International district lies Maneki, a Japanese restaurant that has served up sushi and homestyle Japanese food for over a century. Meet longtime caretaker Jean Nakayama, AKA "Mom", and the 87-year-old bartender. They both reflect on the history of the restaurant and the key to its resilience through the incarceration of Japanese citizens during World War II.
